I just got a brand new Apple Magic Keyboard (w/ 10 key) in Space Grey. In the box was a lightning to USB charging cable. I am scratching my head as to why it is a USB and not a USB-C. My MacBook pro has ONLY USB-C ports. My newest wall adapter (from iPhone 11pro) is also only USB-C. After attempting a repair to my macbook pro this weekend, I reassembled it. The power button does not work. I have read a bunch of topics on inserting the keyboard ribbon cable and how difficult it is, and that this cable routes the power button to the logic board. I have spent a lot of time fiddling with this cable. When you need to charge the keyboard or if you need to connect it again, connect it to your iMac using the included Lightning to USB cable. To customize how your keyboard works, in System Preferences, click Keyboard, then click the buttons at the top to see the options available for keyboard, text, shortcuts, and input sources. The various models, such as the Magic Keyboard, either connect through Bluetooth or via a USB cable. The first and most obvious is that a Mac keyboard doesn't have a Windows key.

However doesn't seem to like it - like I press a key - nothing happens -- or it thinks I am holding it down for 15 seconds when I only pressed it once.
Could it be the cable is crappy (got it off ebay) or is it the computer?
Have taken the cable off for the time being and that fixed the problems with the signal.
Don't want to go buying a better cable if its not going to work either.
